The build demanded extensive rock blasting, strategic retaining systems, and precision foundation work to secure the home’s structure without compromising the landscape’s natural flow.
Arriving via a private bridge that spans a tranquil creek, visitors are greeted by a courtyard anchored by a white brick archway, flanked by a 600 sq ft sports court and two-car garage. Inside, the open main floor captures the essence of coastal elegance with 10-foot ceilings, white oak herringbone floors, and sculpted archways that create fluid transitions between spaces.
A two-tone kitchen with a dramatic soapstone island, formal dining area, and living room open effortlessly to the pool deck and covered lanai, maximizing southwest light and panoramic views toward Kitsilano and the Gulf Islands. A main-floor guest suite connects to a flagstone patio with a custom barrel sauna and outdoor shower, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living.
The upper level features four bedrooms, including a primary suite conceived as a boutique retreat, with a walk-through dressing area, Viola marble ensuite, and sunset-framed freestanding tub. Below, a fully finished basement offers a speakeasy-inspired bar, recreation and games rooms, private spa, nanny suite, and a generous mudroom designed for family life.
From concept to completion, this project demanded deep collaboration between architect, builder, and client. Every elevation, retaining wall, and drainage path was carefully coordinated to respect both the environment and the design vision.
